St. Joseph’s/Candler Health System CIO and Vice President Nolan Hennessee, sat down with Healthcare IT Today Founder and Chief Editor John Lynn at MEDITECH LIVE to discuss how his organization uses MEDITECH Expanse as its primary health system, to meet the demands of a rapidly growing patient population. Throughout the podcast, Hennessee highlights how the Savannah-based network is expanding services across the community and implementing new tools to keep patients engaged and satisfied.
Hennessee shares what he and his organization value in a vendor partnership:
“You want a partner that’s stable, that you can count on them actually delivering what they are talking about, and they are going to be here in five and ten years.” He continued, “MEDITECH has that reputation of being a rock. I can count on what they say. They don’t oversell or undersell. They always deliver.”
Hennessee talks about the benefits of implementing a ‘one patient, one record’ philosophy and his work in fast-tracking an Expanse Ambulatory rollout to approximately 100 providers. He also shares the benefits of what is next for St. Joseph’s/Candler, including implementing the MHealth app, Expanse Now, Expanse Oncology, and Business and Clinical Analytics. Hennessee shares his excitement for ambient listening to improve physician satisfaction and for the varied use cases of the Expanse Genomics solution and its impact on precision medicine. He also offers career advice for aspiring CIOs.
