Ontario Shores Centre for Mental Health Sciences (Ontario Shores) recently announced they are the first hospital in Canada to deploy MEDITECH’s Expanse Genomics solution for real-time drug-gene interaction analysis. According to its September 16th press release, the leader in mental health care is also the first hospital in Ontario to offer complimentary pharmacogenetic testing for select patient groups to better understand how their bodies metabolize medications. These tests will allow for the precise optimization of treatment plans tailored to each patient's unique genetic profile.

In collaboration with key partners Dynacare and First Databank, Ontario Shores will leverage Expanse Genomics to efficiently manage and analyze genetic data for real-time data-driven insights. This innovative approach enables healthcare professionals to tailor medication doses to each patient, potentially improving treatment outcomes and shortening hospital stays.
