MEDITECH's Oncology Brings Efficiencies to Clatterbridge Cancer Centre

Clatterbridge Cancer Centre NHS Foundation Trust CCIO Dr. Richard Griffiths explains how the UK cancer centre realized both clinical and patient benefits right out of the gate with MEDITECH’s Oncology Management solution.

Less than a year into its implementation of MEDITECH’s Oncology Management solution,  Clatterbridge Cancer Centre NHS Foundation Trust (Wirral, England) is seeing greater efficiencies in care delivery at one of the UK’s largest networked cancer centres. 

“We can prescribe treatment far much easier than with our previous system, and that was noticeable from day one,” states  Dr. Griffiths. “Our organization operates a number of different geographical sites, and it’s really important that we’re able to have full access to the electronic patient record wherever we are. This has made the care we deliver safer.”

In a recent interview with Digital Health, Dr. Griffiths, along with Clatterbridge IM&T Director Thomas Poulter, discuss the hospital’s transformation project as well as the trust’s plans for 2017.
