MEDITECH advances interoperability standards with its full support of USCDI v4

MEDITECH is among the first EHR vendors to announce its support of USCDI v4, well before any regulatory requirements are enacted.

MEDITECH has released its latest set of Application Program Interfaces (APIs), compatible with version 4 of the United States Core Data for Interoperability (USCDI), underscoring its leadership in advancing standards-based exchange.

MEDITECH’s support of USCDI v4 comes well before any regulatory requirements are enacted. These standards allow healthcare app developers to design solutions against the most advanced set of standards available in the industry. The latest version includes new data elements that further expand on existing profiles for laboratory and medication results; adds new categories of health assessments related to alcohol, substance use and physical activity; and includes new elements related to patient preferences for treatment and the care experience. This enhanced detail and specificity allow for more precise and nuanced data analysis.

“The data standards incorporated through USCDI v4 enable app developers to offer providers and patients greater clinical richness in the patient information accessible through their products,” says MEDITECH Senior Director of Interoperability and Market Strategy Mike Cordeiro. “By ensuring seamless access to standardized patient health data across healthcare systems and vendor solutions, the new standard helps care teams provide more personalized, holistic patient care.”

APIs supporting all the new USCDI v4 elements are now available in MEDITECH’s Greenfield Workspace environment at no charge to vendors wishing to explore the new data elements made available with this release.

MEDITECH’s timely approach to USCDI v4 builds on the company’s commitment to the latest industry standards for interoperability, including USCDI, USCDI+ Cancer, and TEFCA.

MEDITECH has also committed to supporting new versions of USCDI as soon as the associated standards are finalized, with USCDI v5 support available later this year and future versions made available annually.
