Avera McKennan Hospital operates The Link Community Triage Center, a coalition of 4 organizations that have joined forces to provide 24/7 care and support for individuals struggling with mental health crises and addiction. Serving a community that includes many Native Americans and people of color, the center has undertaken a culturally sensitive approach - and in the process has reduced the number of custody holds (drug/alcohol emergency law enforcement holds) by over 90%.
