MEDITECH is proud to announce the promotion of Helen Waters to Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. She will expand her pivotal role in defining MEDITECH’s strategic direction, and setting operational priorities and overall communication strategies, while also taking on a visible role with customer engagement, product direction, business partnerships, and general executive oversight in partnership with MEDITECH’s President and CEO Michelle O’Connor

“Helen is keen to challenge the status quo and consider new organizational structures, business models, and approaches to deliver the best outcome for the customers and the company. Her approach and skills overall have served us very well,” stated O’Connor.

“Helen has moved MEDITECH forward in every capacity and position she has undertaken throughout her career. She lives up to her reputation as being a customer-focused leader, and her dedication will help to shape us for a long and successful future. I am excited to work with Helen to shape the next chapters for MEDITECH.”

Waters is well-known in the industry as a member of the CHIME Foundation Board since 2018. The election by her peers is a testament to her involvement in, and commitment to, addressing vital issues in healthcare IT.

Much of Waters' career at MEDITECH has been spent on the front lines of Sales and Marketing, where she has served as Vice President since 2015. She was instrumental in shaping MEDITECH’s success and growth in the Midwest Region over a number of years and was also the longtime lead business relationship manager for one of MEDITECH's largest customers, Hospital Corporation of America (HCA).

Waters transitioned to serve as the Vice President of Client Services with operational responsibilities including the application development, implementation, and ongoing service of the Client/Server and Magic platforms. In addition, she oversaw the Atlanta-based Home Care division for several years in an operational capacity.

"I'm delighted to be taking on this new role, as I see tremendous opportunity and potential for MEDITECH," said Waters. "We are meeting the needs of both large and small healthcare organizations, as they face complex challenges and many new opportunities with evolving care delivery models. We are incredibly proud of our customers and the impact we have made together in the evolution of health IT, but we are even more excited about what lies ahead.

Sophisticated capabilities, deep integration, robust analytics, and new innovations that support the latest healthcare paradigm and care delivery models are important factors for the future. Our web-based Expanse platform is rooted in our strong history and experience, but built to support a bright and agile future as healthcare continues to evolve.”
