The College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME) recently recognized several MEDITECH customers as 2024 Digital Health Most Wired recipients in its annual survey. The recognition highlights organizations' commitment to leveraging technology to enhance patient care, improve operational efficiency, and drive digital transformation in healthcare.
Among this year’s first-time recipients is Phoebe Putney Health System (Albany, GA), a not-for-profit network serving more than 500,000 residents in a 41-county region. Phoebe Putney has been a MEDITECH customer for over two decades and is extending its MEDITECH Expanse solution across ambulatory clinics.
"Achieving the CHIME Digital Health Most Wired designation is a testament to our digital transformation efforts at Phoebe Putney, as we leverage the most advanced technologies to provide a better way to health and wellness for our entire community,” says Vice President and CIO Mike Elder.
“We’re taking a patient-first approach to care by centralizing our patient records under a single Expanse EHR to ensure continuity of care wherever a patient presents. We’re also adopting solutions like virtual nursing, mobile handhelds for nurses, and sepsis surveillance monitoring to improve patient safety and reduce clinician burden. I am incredibly proud of our staff for all they have accomplished in such a short amount of time."
Valley Health System (Paramus, NJ) is no stranger to digital transformation, once again achieving Digital Health Most Wired Level 9. A valued MEDITECH customer for over 30 years, the organization successfully went LIVE with Expanse in 2019, continuing its commitment to advancing healthcare through technology.
“Advancing our digital technology capabilities is a key component of our successful commitment to being a safety-first, zero harm, 100% reliability organization. Earning Digital Health Most Wired recognition for the 24th consecutive year reflects the ongoing efforts of our team to remain forward-thinking,” says Vice President and Chief Information Officer Eric Carey.
“Our new state-of-the-art hospital in Paramus utilizes the latest smart hospital technologies to help us provide exceptional clinical care, patient experience, patient engagement, and drive overall optimized operations. AI-assisted fall monitoring for patient safety, environmental controls directly managed by patients, advanced clinical and operational alerting systems, integration of real-time location systems to coordinate services and provide patients information about their care, as well as analytics-driven decision-making systems are just a few of the benefits of our technology. Technology continues to revolutionize care delivery, so we continue to push the boundaries by embracing the latest advancements in the industry.”
CHIME recognizes Level 9 hospitals for leveraging technologies in innovative ways and encouraging deep adoption across their entire organization. MEDITECH customer DCH Health System (Tuscaloosa, AL) is one of those customers, advancing to Level 9 at the acute level while maintaining its Level 9 status in ambulatory settings, a point of pride for CIO Billy Helmandollar.
"DCH has achieved Level 9 status, marking a significant milestone in our digital transformation journey and positioning us among the county's most advanced organizations,” he says.
“This achievement validates our strategic efforts to become a digitally forward organization, driven by our commitment to technological innovation and excellence. While proud of this recognition, we view this not as an endpoint, but as a critical stepping stone in our ongoing mission to continually push the boundaries of digital advancement."
While several other MEDITECH customers made the Digital Health Most Wired list, North Country Healthcare (Whitefield, NH) and Grand View Health (Sellersville, PA) were among those whose scores rose to Level 9 in 2024.
MEDITECH Executive Vice President and COO Helen Waters views CHIME Digital Health Most Wired as a testament to customers’ vision, leadership, and commitment to leveraging technology to improve healthcare outcomes.
"In today's healthcare landscape, advanced digital technology isn't just an option—it's a necessity,” explains Waters.
“By embracing innovation, we unlock the potential to deliver superior patient outcomes while achieving new levels of patient engagement, provide tools that empower clinicians to thrive, and foster seamless interoperability which breaks down barriers to care. This is the future of healthcare, and it's a future patients deserve, and we're committed to shaping it.
