During Jackson’s keynote, Looking Beyond the Hype to Drive Innovations in AI in Healthcare, she challenged attendees to move beyond the buzzwords and explore practical applications of artificial intelligence (AI) in healthcare. With a focus on driving meaningful innovation, Jackson emphasised the importance of leveraging AI to improve patient outcomes and enhance operational efficiency in healthcare systems across East Africa.
During the panel discussion, Opportunities and Challenges of a Comprehensive EHR in LMICs (low-and middle-income countries), drawing upon his extensive experience in healthcare IT, Dr. Pillai spoke about the unique aspects and key processes associated with implementing an Electronic Health Record (EHR) in LMICs. Dr. Pillai’s insights underscored the importance of tailored solutions and collaborative approaches to overcome barriers and maximise the impact of EHR systems in improving healthcare delivery.
