MEDITECH is pleased to congratulate Dr. Jane Englebright, HCA Healthcare’s (Nashville, TN) chief nurse executive and senior vice president, for being appointed as board chair of The Joint Commission Board of Commissioners. Dr. Englebright will begin her new role on January 1, 2021.
As board chair, Dr. Englebright will provide strategic direction and oversight to aid in The Joint Commission’s mission to continuously improve healthcare. Her dedication to advancing nursing through innovative practices supports The Joint Commission’s ongoing response to the COVID-19 crisis.

Dr. Englebright has been a member of the Joint Commission Board of Commissioners since 2014, first as nursing at large commissioner and most recently as vice chair. She began her nursing career with HCA Healthcare in 1992 as a critical care nurse. Now, as chief nurse executive and senior vice president, Dr. Englebright provides leadership for approximately 94,000 registered nurses working in HCA Healthcare hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers, and other care sites.
