MEDITECH is bringing customers and industry leaders together for its first-ever virtual 2020 Physician and CIO Forum on September 15th - 17th. Sessions and speakers will highlight the ways in which today’s clinicians are lighting the way forward — even through these difficult times of COVID-19 — toward a brighter, more connected future for healthcare.
This year’s forum was designed to give healthcare professionals several flexible options to get the information they need, with minimum interruption to their busy schedules. Attendees can join for one, two, or all three days and choose which sessions they want to see, from anywhere they can access a web-based browser. Three separate tracks for CIOs, physicians, and other providers involved in care coordination will include content specially tailored for those roles.
Two renowned keynote speakers will take the virtual stage to discuss the importance of maintaining our human connections, even as our healthcare technologies accommodate the new realities of social distancing. Stacey Chang, founder and executive director at the Design Institute for Health, will deliver a session on Designing For the New Normal; while Mark Shrime, MD, founder and director of Harvard’s Center for Global Surgery Evaluation, will discuss Bringing Humanity Back to Healthcare.
In addition, over two dozen customer presenters will share their strategies and experiences — from staying safe during a pandemic, to surviving a cyber attack, to achieving the highest status on CHIME’s Most Wired list.
A variety of demonstrations and education sessions will also provide information on MEDITECH’s newest products and enhancements for physicians. Attendees will learn about patient engagement tools, personalized medicine, and our new Virtual Assistant solution, powered by Nuance AI. They can also visit a Virtual Exhibit Hall on September 15 and 16, where vendors will host one-hour sessions showcasing their latest offerings.
Most importantly, the forum will encourage participants to strengthen their connections with other healthcare leaders who are facing similar challenges during this unusual time.
“With the COVID-19 pandemic disrupting our traditional models of care and patient interaction, this year has been unlike any we have faced in our careers," said MEDITECH Physician Consultant and Forum Moderator William Gustin, MD. "Physicians and CIOs are continuously grappling with new challenges in daily clinical operations, organizational infrastructure, and online patient encounters; all while maintaining the authenticity of the patient/provider relationship. It’s so important for us to take the opportunity to come together and share our methods of adoption and success.”
