MEDITECH Suspends HIMSS20 Participation Due to Coronavirus
MEDITECH announced today that it has withdrawn from HIMSS20 in response to the recent coronavirus outbreak.
In light of the growing number of reported cases of COVID-19 occurring this week, and the likelihood that this growth will continue in the coming days, it is with much regret that we have made the decision to not attend or exhibit at HIMSS20 this year. HIMSS has been notified formally.
This was a difficult decision and is certain to be questioned as an overreaction by some. However, we feel an abundance of caution is appropriate to both minimize our possible contribution to the spread of this disease and allay the fears and concerns of our staff.
We realize that our staff and the entire HIMSS team work tirelessly to prepare for a world class conference and regret that we are unable to participate this year. Their efforts are appreciated. We also regret not having the opportunity to visit with customers and partners. We intend to offer virtual demonstrations for all scheduled presentations.
