MEDITECH Releases Guidance on Building Integrated Risk Score Calculators

Clinical decision support is a priority when managing ICU patients or during extreme demand, such as a pandemic. MEDITECH’s new Guidance Documentinstructs organizations on building integrated risk score calculators — a clinical decision support tool comprising external evidence, warnings, and clinical calculators — in Expanse and 6.0.  

Using the Sequential Organ Failure Assessment (SOFA) as an example, the guidelines provide step-by-step instructions on building a scoring tool and incorporating either the entire tool, or simply the score, into standard workflows.
