The ability to print or output electronic forms is enhanced by the Print on Demand functions of the Electronic Forms Repository in a downtime situation. With eForms Repository (EFR) Downtime, pre-printed patient services forms are replaced with on-demand electronic versions. EFR maintains a catalog of documents for a downtime situation. Managing forms in the central EFR eliminates the problems caused by unauthorized, outdated and duplicate forms that are common with a paper-based system. Multi-level security privileges ensure that only authorized users have the ability to access EFR, and the actions they can perform are also controlled by the system administrator.
Access Passport is a web-based forms solution that provides access to the functional elements you need to remove all paper from your forms processes—making them completely electronic from start to finish. Using virtually any device from any location, your clinical and administrative staff can quickly access the right eforms, collect information in record time, and capture patient and other signatures without printing or scanning. Once an e-form is complete, Passport can kick off a workflow process, instantly deliver the data to the people and systems that need it, track the e-form throughout its life cycle and more.
Expanse Patient Connect
MEDITECH’s Expanse Patient Connect solution is powered by Artera's platform for connected patient experiences. With Expanse Patient Connect, you have the ability to:
- Automate patient communications via conversational, bidirectional messaging
- Close the last mile communication gap to patients by connecting with them, wherever they are and through their preferred channel (text, email, or phone) and in their preferred language, while reducing burdensome busy-work and keeping staff focused on connecting with patients

e-Prior Authorization (ePA+)
Allows staff to conduct prior authorizations prospectively within the e-prescribing workflow. Requests are initiated electronically, reducing additional data-entry and time-consuming follow-up activities such as phone calls, faxes, and document delivery. With ePA+, the provider can be notified immediately if a drug requires prior authorization and can also find out quickly if the coverage has been approved or denied.
EPCS Gold 2.0®
The nation’s first system to enable the electronic transmission of controlled substances while adhering to all state and federal regulations. It reduces the risk of a provider’s DEA number being compromised, and has multiple options for DEA required 2-part authentication.
The first real-time benefit information available in the e-prescribing workflow. It provides a full range of price transparency, delivering member/patient-specific cost share and eligibility information to the point-of-care through DrFirst's connections with Payers, PBMs, and EHRs.
Most states now require a physician check their local prescription drug monitoring program (PDMP) registries prior to prescribing controlled substances. DrFirst’s PDMP integration brings state PDMP data into existing MEDITECH workflows without having to launch the state website, remember username/ password, or search for the patient. It brings the PDMP results back to MEDITECH and documents that the registry was checked. Upon review of PDMP data within the medication management processes, this integration is bi-directional ensuring providers get “credit” for checking their local registry. This integration saves an estimated 25-50 keystrokes for every controlled substance written.
RcopiaAC® & MedHx
Provides robust external medication history (MedHx) data upon patient intake and vital care transitions while enabling discharge/walk-out e-prescribing (eRx) of legend medications at discharge. e-prescribing leads to increased patient compliance and reduced remittance. This full integration with MEDITECH ensures the fewest keystrokes when entering and e-prescribing.

A software service exclusive to DrFirst, which takes free text sig data present within MedHx and transforms it into codified values specifically relevant to your nomenclature. It propagates these values into MEDITECH, providing validated sig data which meets clinical completeness and relevance standards. SmartSig drastically improves workflow efficiency by significantly reducing the annual number of clicks required to complete sig data.
Canadian Interoperability Module
Provides cross references from FDB’s MedKnowledge vocabulary concepts to other databases seamlessly to allow patient care to not be hindered. This cross-referencing module can be used to exchange patient information outside of the hospital walls to support various requirements.

Supplemental data provided for MEDITECH users who license MEDITECH Home Health. Tailored to fit the MEDITECH platform and expands MedKnowledge functionality.
MedKnowledge Add-On: Medicare Module HCPCS
One piece of the data offering is available to MEDITECH customers and includes the Morphine Equivalent Dosing indicator which provides the conversion factors for the MME threshold values to identify patients who need further review.
MedKnowledge Add-On: Patient Education Monographs
Includes how and when to use the specific drug, potential side effects, precautions, drug interactions, overdose information, missed dose information and storage. Available to supplement the English version provided by FDB (passed to FDB from the Drug Manufacturer) for hospitals with a large patient population that speaks Spanish or French.
MedKnowledge Add-On: Pharmacogenomics
This clinical tool is used in conjunction with MEDITECH’s genomics solution to provide additional functionality beyond the current MedKnowledge Database. Includes screening for harmful reactions that are patient specific to allow time for dosage adjustments and alternatives that may be a better genetic fit for the patient. It directly works within the Expanse workflow to provide content for Pharmacogenomics clinical decision support.
Tailored MedKnowledge information that is specific for the Canadian Market. Includes Natural Health Products that are not listed in the US version.

IMO 2.0 Enhanced Terminology Platform (ETP)
Provides MEDITECH clients with the ability to map their dictionaries to comprehensive and current content with less burden, greater accuracy, and increased speed than traditional methods. ETP facilitates a clinically friendly workflow aiding physicians with finding and accurately documenting conditions and diagnoses. This comes via IMO ensuring all dictionary content is appropriately mapped to regulatory codes that support billing, reporting, and analytics.

Automated check printing solution integrated via financial interface from MEDITECH Expanse to support AP, Payroll and Statements.
Downtime Registration & Downtime Clinical Forms Repository
Auto print registration forms, wristbands, and labels required to admit patients for care during EHR or network downtime events. Access paper forms for clinical documentation to ensure continuity of care and single source truth during downtime. Accurate scanning back to the chart when downtime event is over.
Encompasses eSig @ Reg and bedside consents. Collect patient signatures electronically from Expanse which are auto-archived to patient’s chart.
