A recap of our MaaS User Group Virtual Event

By Linda Nadeau, Director of MaaS Implementation

On behalf of my entire team, thank you for making the January MaaS User Group Virtual Event such an insightful gathering. I especially want to thank IT Analyst Jo Peterson from Mile Bluff, Business Office Director Jessica Camacho from Roosevelt General Hospital, and Clinical Informaticist Karen Quinnell from Ferry County Health for sharing the knowledge they gained from their Expanse projects. The recorded presentations are posted on the MaaS User Group page of MEDITECH.com.

Save the Date: The next MaaS User Group Virtual Event will be held on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, from 11 a.m. EDT to 3:30 p.m. EDT.  An in-person meeting is planned for September 17, 2025, to coincide with our annual MEDITECH LIVE event.

Key points from the meeting

Customer growth

We now have 77 live MaaS customers. Eighteen customers went live in 2024, and 20 transitioned from Implementation to Support. Our Support division currently manages 68% of our customers.

Expanse updates

To minimize downtime while ensuring timely delivery of regulatory changes, we are reducing priority pack updates from three times a year to twice a year. A comprehensive booklet detailing all changes will accompany every update. Rather than share the booklet concurrently with the update delivery, we’ll share it as soon as it is available.  In addition, to enhance communication with EHR users, notifications about system downtime due to priority pack updates will appear when users attempt to log in. These updates are a direct response to customer feedback on system availability, documentation, and timely notifications.

Cloud services roadmap

Committed to continuous improvement, MEDITECH is enhancing its services based on customer feedback. We will be migrating Okta services to eliminate the need for the Quest Binary Tree tool, resulting in more reliable user provisioning and authentication. This migration also includes a new SFTP service that integrates directly with Okta and other SAML-compliant identity providers (IdP). Finally, we will be rolling out Remote Desktop Services (RDS) to replace Citrix for specific use cases. These changes will improve service reliability and streamline customers’ onboarding experience.

Educational progress report

More than 240 new and updated Training On Demand e-learning resources are now available! Key additions include curriculums focused on provider and nursing personalization; provider optimization; clinical analyst roles for nursing, provider, and ambulatory settings; and seven toolkit e-learning modules. Be sure to explore the  Physician Starter Kit for Personalization - 30/60/90

Thank you for providing valuable feedback to the Training and Education team in our interactive polls! We look forward to sharing our May progress report with you regarding additional microlearning modules, enhanced hands-on opportunities, and competencies.

MEDITECH Traverse Exchange

Our national customer data exchange network is connected to the Health Gorilla Quality Health Information Network (QHIN). This secure platform allows customers to seamlessly share health data with other MEDITECH facilities and organizations using other vendors’ EHRs that meet interoperability standards. Traverse Exchange may not be included in your current agreement, depending on your contract date. If this is the case, MEDITECH can add this service when your organization accepts our EULA. Going forward, all new MEDITECH clients will receive Traverse Exchange as part of the standard agreement. Please contact your MEDITECH account executive or notify your account/customer success manager and they will review your agreement with Sales on your behalf.

Unlocking the potential of MEDITECH Expanse Revenue Cycle

During this educational session, Business Office Director Jessica Camacho from Roosevelt General Hospital shared areas of focus, lessons learned, and tips for running an efficient business office

MEDITECH efforts to elevate our new portal

The MEDITECH Team walked through the redesigned Patient and Consumer Health Portal, renamed MyHealthHub, along with tentative timelines for deployment in 2025

BCA additional deliverable content

IT Analyst Jo Peterson from Mile Bluff Medical Center demonstrated the BCA additional deliverable content Hourly Census Dashboard, available to all BCA customers.  Mile Bluff uses the dashboard to monitor and track staffing needs. Jo also shared the process her team follows with their departmental and executive teams to review and validate these dashboards before using them in the live environment.

Personalized Nursing and Therapy in Expanse

A tutorial and documentation (Nursing Personalization Guide) were designed to elevate the efficiency of nurses’ and therapists’ workflows.  Please share them at your education and department meetings.

Thank you again for your dedication and engagement. We hope to see you at future events!
