Mobile collaboration on treatment and care activities

MEDITECH offers several mobile solutions designed to enhance care coordination and support clinicians, nurses, and patients across the care continuum. These include:

  • Expanse Now, which provides on-the-go access for physicians, surgeons, and ambulatory providers, allowing them to manage tasks and access Expanse even when away from the office or hospital, such as during on-call shifts. A key feature is Expanse Cam, which enables physicians to efficiently and securely capture and upload medical images directly into their documentation using a smartphone or tablet's built-in camera.
  • Expanse Point of Care, which empowers nurses to efficiently document care directly at the patient's bedside using a smartphone. This single device allows nurses to perform multiple tasks, including documenting, accessing patient charts by scanning wristbands, administering medications, capturing wound images, and scanning smart pumps to exchange order and infusion data.
  • Integrations with third-party ambient intelligence vendors further enhance workflows by streamlining data capture during patient encounters – enabling clinicians to focus on direct communication and interaction with the patient.  In addition to supporting integration with third-party ambient vendors, MEDITECH is also developing ambient listening solutions within our Expanse mobile apps to support provider and nurse workflows. 

Optimized Outreach, Expanded Access

MEDITECH solutions designed to optimize community outreach and expand patient access to their medical records include:

  • Expanse Patient Connect, which facilitates efficient, two-way appointment communication via text, allowing patients to confirm appointments and receive reminders without an app or internet. The solution intelligently routes patient replies to appropriate staff using sentiment analysis and natural language understanding, and automatically updates the Expanse EHR to help schedulers quickly fill open slots from cancellations. AI assistive technology further optimizes outreach with message translation, shortening for readability, and conversation summarization.
  • Coming soon, MEDITECH’s MyHealth Assistant – a patient portal chatbot – will further streamline administrative workflows by giving patients autonomy to easily navigate portal information and schedule appointments.

Actionable Intelligence, Proactive Care

MEDITECH’s population health solution contains Expanse Care Compass, which allows care teams to use customizable chart widgets to flag common care gaps, so physicians have actionable information queued up upon entering the exam room. This functionality eliminates paper processes and the need to navigate multiple screens, giving clinicians a smoother, simpler, and gap-free workflow.

MEDITECH employs Generative AI tools to enhance clinical efficiency by automating documentation during patient encounters and critical transitions of care. These tools also offer intelligent search and summarization functionalities directly integrated into the workflow. By offering tailored products and features for diverse user groups—including physicians, nurses, patients, and consumers—MEDITECH ensures that each group is equipped with the necessary tools for efficient and coordinated care.
