On 10 September 2026, healthcare executives, clinical leaders, and industry peers convened at the historic Barberstown Castle Hotel in Straffan, Co. Kildare, for the annual MEDITECH UK and Ireland Executive Summit.
This year’s strategic networking event served as a collaborative forum to explore the evolving landscape of digital health, strategic innovation, and methods for healthcare organisations to progress beyond initial EHR implementations to secure long-term clinical and operational success.
Driving Innovation with MEDITECH Expanse
At the core of the day’s discussions was MEDITECH Expanse, our web-based Electronic Health Record (EHR) platform. Leaders from across the UK and Ireland discussed the practical benefits and measurable impact Expanse provides within their health systems. Key topics included safely embedding artificial intelligence directly into clinical workflows to reduce administrative workloads and allow clinicians to focus on care outcomes.
Attendees also examined strategies for enhancing the overall EPR experience through reliable infrastructure, comprehensive training, responsive support, and strong governance. Sessions highlighted connecting hospital systems with community-based care models to build unified regional health records, alongside methods for optimising operational efficiency and resource allocation to support long-term financial health.
Executive Leadership & Strategic Vision
The summit featured key presentations and interactive panel discussions guided by senior MEDITECH leadership. Executive Vice President & COO Helen Waters outlined a strategic roadmap focused on moving past initial implementation toward continuous clinical optimisation and system-wide improvement.
Alongside Waters, executive team members including MEDITECH International CEO Charlotte Jackson, MEDITECH UK and Ireland Managing Director Charlotte Scott, Technology Executive Mike Hooton, International Executive Director Gina Kerley, and Vice President of Customer Experience for HCA and International Joseph Coughlin — together with Regional Managers Steve Abouzeid and Jennifer Antoniazzi — met with customers to address regional challenges and explore future growth opportunities.
