Several MEDITECH customers were recently named to the Digital Health Most Wired list by the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME). MEDITECH customer Avera Health was one of only eight organizations nationwide to earn the Superior Performance Excellence Award and Level 10 status in the acute and ambulatory categories.

Other MEDITECH customers recognized included Ascension (St. Louis, MO), Appalachian Regional Healthcare (Lexington, KY), Doylestown Hospital (Doylestown, PA), Duncan Regional Hospital (Duncan, OK), Frederick Health Hospital (Frederick MD), Jefferson County Hospital (Waurika, OK), Lima Memorial Health System (Lima, OH), Parkview Medical Center (Pueblo, CO), Saratoga Hospital (Saratoga Springs, NY), Stamford Health (Stamford, CT), Tri-State Memorial Hospital (Clarkston, WA), UPMC Western Maryland (Cumberland, MD), and Valley Health System (Ridgewood, NJ).

“Avera’s history of Most Wired awards as well as our latest designation as Level 10 demonstrates that we are an industry leader,” said Avera Interim Chief Information Officer Richard Molseed. “Avera fosters a strong culture of innovation, combining the latest technology with medical expertise to benefit our patients.”

The mission of the annual CHIME program is to encourage optimal use of information technology to improve patient safety and outcomes, by driving change in the healthcare IT industry. CHIME conducts an annual survey to identify, recognize, and certify the adoption, implementation, and use of information technology by healthcare provider organizations.

“Avera has embraced transformative technologies to improve care quality, provider efficiency, and patient outcomes,” said CHIME Foundation Board Member and MEDITECH Executive Vice President Helen Waters. “It’s been a pleasure partnering with them and the other Most Wired honorees, as they show what is possible when you have the right healthcare tools.”

Valley Health System was recognized for its 20th consecutive year as a CHIME Most Wired organization. In this second year of CHIME’s level designation model they once again earned the Level 9 designation. Eric Carey, Vice President and Chief Information Officer said, “This demonstrates Valley’s commitment to advancing technology that supports our High Reliability Organization strategic objective, and consistently meets our goals to provide excellence in patient care and patient experience.”

“Appalachian Regional Healthcare is honored to be recognized as a prestigious CHIME Most Wired organization during a year when technology has been an increasingly vital tool in delivering patient care,” said Montie Hodge, Chief Information Officer and Vice President Information Technology for Appalachian Regional Healthcare. “ARH’s increase to a Level 9 designation demonstrates our system’s continued growth and ongoing commitment to invest in the latest technology to deliver the highest standard of care to our patients.”
