MEDITECH congratulates Emanate Health CIO Dan Nash for becoming one of just eight recipients of the 2025 SoCal ORBIE Award. Each year, the SoCalCIO, SanDiegoCIO and SoCalCISO chapters of the Inspire Leadership Network recognize the top technology executives driving innovation and business transformation. Nash won the Enterprise ORBIE, designated for organizations earning over $700 million in annual revenue.

“The ORBIE® Awards recognize CIOs & CISOs who are making an impact through leadership excellence,” said SanDiegoCIO Chair Mark Hagan in their press release. “The award finalists and winners highlight the excellence and vision that are transforming Southern California’s economy.”

Honorees are chosen through an independent peer-adjudicated process led by prior ORBIE recipients based on the following criteria:

  • Leadership and management effectiveness
  • Business value created by technology innovation and enterprise security
  • Engagement in industry and community endeavors.

"It's an honor to be recognized,” said Nash. “But this is not my award, it is our award, those on my team, those at my organization that serve our patients and families, and those vendor partners that support our mission and are there for us every day."

As Emanate’s CIO for the past decade, Nash is dedicated to making financially sound technology decisions that also enhance patient care outcomes. As a certified project manager, he understands the importance of governance and accountability when undertaking transformational change, as well as the complex decision-making involved in these initiatives.

Nash has also played a pivotal role in transforming his organization’s relationship to EHR innovation, and ensuring that their solutions always adhere to best practices and standards. Emanate Health is the largest non-profit healthcare organization in California’s San Gabriel Valley, tasked with serving a large influx of patients with limited funding.

"Dan serves as an inspiration to other leaders of nonprofit, community-based healthcare systems,” said MEDITECH Executive Vice President & COO Helen Waters. “He has an extraordinary background, working with large healthcare systems and deploying a myriad of EHRs. We admire his leadership as he prioritizes investing in a modernized cloud architecture, with a clear focus on achieving the highest standards in quality care, physician satisfaction, and patient engagement. It has been an honor to partner with him and Emanate Health in support of their clinical care goals.”
