MEDITECH is excited to announce that President and CEO Michelle O’Connor was recently named a 2026 Great Leader in Healthcare by Becker’s Hospital Review as part of the industry outlet’s annual list program. The publication recognizes executives of health systems and companies that represent “the best of the best in healthcare leadership,” for their bold commitment to improving care delivery.
“It’s truly an honor to be recognized alongside so many inspiring changemakers in healthcare,” said O’Connor. “I also want to give credit to our dedicated staff, whose tireless efforts and commitment to innovation are helping to advance care delivery for our customers across the globe.”
O’Connor was recognized for spearheading the continuous development and successful rollout of MEDITECH Expanse, as well as guiding the company's strategic transition to cloud-based and subscription models through MEDITECH-as-a-Service (MaaS). Becker's specifically highlighted how MaaS democratizes health IT by providing advanced technology to smaller or rural health systems that often face affordability or management challenges with large-scale implementations.
“We have long been committed to ensuring that advanced healthcare solutions are available to health systems of all sizes,” said O’Connor. “Rural and community health systems in particular face mounting pressures, from funding cuts to workforce shortages. We’re more dedicated than ever to providing them with practical and sustainable solutions that enable them to maintain their independence and serve the unique needs of their communities.”
In addition, the publication highlighted her efforts to advance the company’s strategic initiatives, including deploying MEDITECH’s interoperability network, improving patient engagement, and promoting AI-driven solutions to reduce physician burnout and optimize clinician workflows.
This fall, O’Connor will welcome customer leaders to the company’s annual executive leadership event, MEDITECH LIVE (September 29 to October 1st).
