Signature Healthcare CIO discusses EHR interoperability with Becker’s Hospital Review

Signature Healthcare (Brockton, MA) is prioritizing interoperability as a key strategy to enhance patient care and maintain its independence.

In a recent interview in Becker’s Hospital Review, Joe Diver, Vice President and Chief Information Officer at Signature Healthcare, spoke with MEDITECH’s Mike Cordeiro about Leveraging Interoperability as a Competitive Advantage. Diver emphasized that improved data sharing not only enhances care quality but also supports Signature Healthcare's long-term goal of maintaining independence in a competitive market.

In the Q&A, he discussed how MEDITECH’s advanced national interoperability network, Traverse Exchange, supports the organization's goal to keep patients within their network while facilitating data exchange when patients seek care elsewhere. This helps the organization provide seamless care coordination, especially for complex cases like cancer care, and also for patients who travel and receive care at different facilities. Ultimately, more efficient data sharing drives better outcomes and improves care for its growing patient population.

Traverse Exchange’s seamless integration with other EHRs, including Epic and Oracle Cerner, allows Signature Healthcare to stay agile without sacrificing its technology choices. Looking ahead, Diver sees potential in payer data exchange to further reduce costs and boost care efficiency.

As part of its continued investment in value-based care, Signature Healthcare is committed to advancing interoperability to better serve its nearly half-million residents. Watch this recent webinar to learn how Traverse Exchange is helping organizations like Signature Healthcare transform data into a strategic advantage.
