The International Convention Centre (ICC) Sydney became the epicenter of healthcare transformation as it hosted the 15th anniversary of Australian Healthcare Week (AHW) and the inaugural Healthcare 2040 Expo from 11–12 March 2026. MEDITECH Asia Pacific joined over 10,000 healthcare professionals at the largest and most influential health event in the Southern Hemisphere to showcase the future of integrated care.
While the industry benchmarked over $8 billion in new healthcare infrastructure and discussed the 'Healthcare 2040' vision, MEDITECH’s exhibit served as a hub for innovation. The team demonstrated how the Expanse EMR is actively shaping the future of care delivery, improving patient outcomes, and driving digital excellence across both acute and aged care sectors.
The event was marked by high-level collaboration, featuring a visit from Charlotte Jackson, CEO of MEDITECH International, who joined the regional team to engage with Australian health leaders.
"Attending the 15th anniversary of Australian Healthcare Week has been a remarkable experience," said Jackson. "Seeing the rapid evolution of the Australian digital landscape firsthand confirms that the shift toward person-centred, integrated care is universal.
At MEDITECH, our goal is to provide the 'digital backbone' that allows these visionary healthcare providers to turn complex data into meaningful, life-saving actions."
For Doug Murray, Managing Director of MEDITECH Asia Pacific, the event was an opportunity to reflect on the progress made within the region and the path toward 2040.
"Australian Healthcare Week remains the premier platform for driving meaningful dialogue in our industry," noted Murray. "This year, we focused on showing our partners that innovation isn't a distant goal — it’s happening now. Whether it’s through AI-driven workflows or seamless aged care integrations, we are proud to be helping Australian providers navigate their digital journeys to achieve safer, more connected care for every patient."
The two-day event featured over 500 speakers and 200 exhibitors, highlighting a collective urgency to solve workforce strains and aging population challenges through smarter technology. MEDITECH’s participation underscored its commitment to the Australian market, leaving the ICC Sydney with renewed momentum to power the next generation of healthcare facilities.
