MEDITECH’s subscription-based model, MEDITECH as a Service (MaaS), is expanding, now deployed at over 130 hospitals across 38 states and territories, Canada, and Australia. To support this growth, MEDITECH has recently integrated several additional third-party solutions into its cloud-based Expanse offering.
A key addition is Elsevier's evidence-based nursing content, including assessments and care plans. This integration aims to improve patient care by providing nurses access to the latest best practices and ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements. This collaboration has resulted in the embedding of over 350 new care plans, more than 1,720 new evidence-based interventions, 1,700 new documentation sections, 1,600+ outcomes, and 1,110 queries into the standard content.
MEDITECH will also be incorporating content for additional specialties in the coming months.
In addition to nurse assessments and care plans, MEDITECH has extended its offering with clinical data intelligence leader IMO Health to include the company’s IMO Core for MEDITECH solution. IMO core includes enhanced and integrated standard nomenclature and problem list management. Clinicians can now document patient problems with greater detail and specificity using intuitive language that captures nuances of diagnoses. The problem list management solution also improves organization by automatically mapping clinical terms to appropriate codes and highlighting critical details.
Additional partner solutions recently added to MaaS include:
- An embedded interface engine through the ELLKAY LKOpera platform.
- Forward Advantage's Communication Director - Cloud Fax Suite, which includes automated report distribution to eliminate manual inbound and outbound faxing.
"Deploying an EHR shouldn’t be slowed down by the need to research and procure third-party solutions,” says MEDITECH Associate Vice President Jeff Kimball. “Our partnerships provide MEDITECH MaaS customers with a more comprehensive and robust EHR solution to ensure a smooth and streamlined implementation."
“We feel strongly that deploying a subscription-based EHR should be a streamlined experience. The inclusion of industry-leading partner solutions into our offering ensures that MaaS customers will receive a more comprehensive and robust EHR solution that meets all of their needs,” says MEDITECH Associate Vice President Jeff Kimball. “MEDITECH is continuously working with all of our partners to ensure that our customers are receiving the best solutions possible. We are excited to extend existing partnerships to leverage new solutions, and to welcome in new partners to further enhance our MaaS offering.”
By choosing MEDITECH Expanse using the MaaS model, healthcare organizations can overcome the initial financial hurdles of implementing a new EHR and focus on patient care while maintaining fiscal responsibility. MaaS delivers the complete Expanse intelligent EHR platform, reducing the time and expense of procuring, hosting, securing, and maintaining an enterprise-level EHR.
