Driving the Future of Connected Care: MEDITECH and Wolters Kluwer Partner at HASA 2026

Highlighting a shared commitment to advancing digital health infrastructure across the region, MEDITECH South Africa joined forces with strategic partner Wolters Kluwer at the Hospital Association South Africa (HASA) Quality Summit and Conference 2026, held from 30 September to 2 October 2026 at the Sandton Convention Centre.

Under HASA 2026's overarching theme, “Building Health, Together,” MEDITECH and Wolters Kluwer co-exhibited to showcase how combining robust Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems with embedded, evidence-based clinical decision support (CDS) empowers care teams, streamlines workflows, and enhances patient care.

Throughout the three-day event, healthcare leaders, clinicians, and hospital executives visited our stand to explore how MEDITECH’s transformative EHR platform, MEDITECH Expanse, integrates seamlessly with Wolters Kluwer’s drug data and clinical decision support solutions, including Medi-Span® and UpToDate®.

Executives from both MEDITECH and Wolters Kluwer discussed the strength of their strategic partnership, key healthcare challenges across the region, and actionable strategies for driving patient safety and continuous quality improvement.

"Our presence at HASA 2026 alongside Wolters Kluwer reinforces our joint mission to bridge the gap between data and actionable clinical decision-making," said MEDITECH South Africa Managing Director Dr. Sushanth Pillai. "By uniting MEDITECH Expanse with trusted, real-time clinical intelligence right at the bedside, we are giving clinicians the tools they need to make fast, confident decisions — ultimately transforming care delivery for patients and families across South Africa and the broader continent."

Echoing this sentiment, Wolters Kluwer Health Medi-Span Sales Director Mohammad Al Qazaq emphasized the importance of seamlessly integrating clinical decision support into healthcare workflows to enhance patient safety and quality of care.

"Collaborating with MEDITECH enables us to deliver critical, evidence-based medication care insights directly into clinician workflows where they matter most," he said. "Together, we are helping hospitals strengthen their digital infrastructure, elevate patient care, and drive quality improvement across healthcare organisations."

As regional healthcare systems work toward achieving digital maturity and expanding access to high-quality care, partnerships that blend scalable technology infrastructure with clinical context remain critical. Industry conferences like HASA are vital for collaboration, staying connected with frontline challenges, and engaging directly with healthcare leaders — providing an invaluable platform to demonstrate how open, interoperable digital solutions can help hospital networks elevate patient safety, improve quality of care, and establish a modern foundation for future digital health innovations.
