April is nationally recognized as Patient Experience Month, a time dedicated to celebrating and reinforcing the profound impact that every staff member, technology, and process has on the well-being of those we serve. At MEDITECH, the patient experience is the guiding principle for everything we do. It encompasses the entirety of a patient's journey, from the first point of contact to recovery and follow-up. This month, we are launching several key initiatives and rolling out innovative tools designed to empower our teams and ultimately provide a more compassionate, efficient, and seamless experience for every patient. 

Strategic Initiatives Driving Clinical Excellence

To solidify our commitment to best practices and patient-centric care, we are investing significantly in professional development and cross-functional collaboration through two major annual events:

  • From Live to Optimized Summit: This multi-day in-person summit brings together clinical leaders and technology specialists to define and streamline our most critical care pathways. The focus is on leveraging data and technology to eliminate friction points in patient care, ensuring that every protocol is evidence-based and designed for maximum patient safety and comfort. By optimizing clinical workflows, we free up our healthcare providers to spend more focused, quality time with their patients, which is the heart of a positive patient experience.
  • The Clinical Symposium: Designed for frontline staff, nurses, and clinicians, this virtual symposium is a deep-dive educational event. It features workshops and presentations centered on the latest advancements in bedside manner, effective patient communication, and understanding patient psychology. The symposium emphasizes empathy, active listening, and cultural competence, equipping our care teams with the soft skills necessary to connect with patients on a human level and address their concerns proactively.

Additionally, we also encourage all leaders to attend our premier leadership event, MEDITECH LIVE, this fall, where we’ll focus on intelligent innovation, data-driven strategy, and practical solutions that empower organizations to deliver exceptional care.

Empowering Teams with Innovative Tools

Technology serves as a powerful accelerator in delivering a superior patient experience. We are thrilled to introduce Circle Agent Help, an integrated support mechanism that provides immediate, contextual assistance within MEDITECH Circle. When someone encounters a question or needs quick guidance on a complex policy or system feature, the Circle Agent provides instant, reliable answers. By ensuring staff have streamlined access to information, we reduce their administrative burden and help them navigate issues quickly. This tool indirectly but powerfully impacts the patient experience by ensuring efficient service delivery and reducing wait times caused by staff troubleshooting.

For patients, we are also excited to announce MyHealth Assistant, an intuitive, AI-powered assistant integrated into the MyHealth patient portal. This chatbot empowers patients by enabling them to interact seamlessly with conversational AI via text or voice to navigate the portal, locate health information, and schedule appointments.
