MEDITECH hosts inaugural From Live to Optimized summit

This summit emphasized collaboration, education, and peer knowledge sharing as tools to optimize EHR workflows

MEDITECH recently welcomed more than 100 healthcare professionals to its Foxborough campus for the inaugural From Live to Optimized: Advancing Clinical Efficiency event, a new summit focused on helping organizations maximize the value of their Expanse EHR through workflow optimization and clinician efficiency initiatives.

The event brought together clinical and informatics leaders for two days of collaboration, education, and peer-to-peer knowledge sharing. Attendees learned practical strategies to reduce clinician burden and improve overall satisfaction by focusing on personalization, refining build, adopting key efficiency features, and capitalizing on new technology.

Using recommended data and governance models centered around optimization opportunities discussed during the summit, analysts and super users now have the tools needed to deploy proven best practices at scale — without overwhelming clinicians or IT teams. Attendees also appreciated the opportunity to step away from day-to-day responsibilities and focus specifically on optimization efforts.

“This event was great! We often get bogged down in daily projects and do not have the time or motivation to dedicate to optimization,” said Deborah Heart and Lung Center Clinical Informatics Coordinator Joyce Brown. “Getting away and concentrating solely on optimization has given me a new enthusiasm to move forward with these projects.”

MEDITECH leaders emphasized the importance of in-person collaboration and the value of customers learning directly from one another’s experiences.

“The From Live to Optimized summit was a tremendous success, with an energizing turnout and highly collaborative sessions throughout the event,” said MEDITECH Director Kimberly Fischer.

“Being together in person created the kind of dynamic exchange that’s hard to replicate virtually. Peer-to-peer sharing made the sessions especially meaningful. We’re excited to continue partnering with customers as they bring what they learned from MEDITECH and their peers back to their organizations and put those ideas into action.”
