The recent MEDITECH Users Network (MUN) Annual Conference 2026 took place in Liverpool, gathering technology specialists, clinical experts, and healthcare leaders from across the UK and Ireland. Across two days of peer-to-peer knowledge exchange, collaborative networking, and insightful sessions, delegates representing 16 premier health systems across private networks and NHS Trusts made this the largest MUN event to date.
The annual conference offered opportunities to engage directly with MEDITECH executives and dedicated customer experience teams. These valuable touchpoints provided an open forum for attendees to address site-specific operational priorities, explore future enhancements, and share ways of improving usability as well as patient care.
As health systems face unprecedented operational pressure, care delivery models must contend with widespread clinician burnout, critical labor shortages, staff retention challenges, rising costs, demands for equitable access, and fragmented patient histories. To navigate these challenges, healthcare organisations must shift focus — moving past initial Electronic Patient Record (EHR/EPR) implementation milestones to drive structured, long-term value realisation across the entire system lifecycle.
Fittingly, the year’s MUN annual conference theme, Live, Stabilise, Elevate: Realising the Value, set the tone for discussions on moving the conversation past initial go-lives to address the critical lifecycle stages:
- Live: Navigating deployment milestones and embedding core digital functionality into everyday workflows.
- Stabilise: Ensuring system reliability, refining governance, reinforcing baseline adoption, and establishing day-to-day operational consistency.
- Elevate: Unlocking advanced capabilities, driving continuous optimisation, leveraging clinical data analytics, and realising measurable long-term value for staff and patients alike.
Presentations delivered by MEDITECH subject matter experts focused on advanced roadmap initiatives, including streamlining clinical documentation, leveraging embedded analytics to support clinical decision-making, automating administrative workflows, and reducing cognitive load for frontline care teams. Discussions emphasised continuous system optimisation and deeper user adoption as the true drivers of return-on-investment and enhanced patient outcomes.
Customer-Led Clinical Excellence
Health system leaders presented how innovating with purpose drives measurable performance gains in live clinical environments, including:
- Digital Nursing & Ward Efficiency: NHS Trusts demonstrated how standardising bedside nursing assessments and mobile vitals documentation drastically reduced administrative overhead, recovering hours of direct care time per nurse per shift.
- Closed-Loop Medicines Management: Enterprise healthcare organisations detailed closed-loop ePrescribing and medication administration deployment, eliminating prescription transcription errors, reducing adverse drug events, and generating immutable audit logs.
- Interoperability & Care Transitions: Acute trusts showcased FHIR-enabled data exchange linking acute hospitals, community services, and regional registries to bridge care gaps during patient transfers.
- Patient Registries Showcase: Shauna Fitzpatrick, EHR Clinical Services Specialist at Mater Private Network and winner of the prestigious MUSE Inspire trip award (to attend MUSE Inspire 2027), presented "Beyond Ambulatory Clinics: Expanding the Use of Patient Registries Across Acute and Ambulatory Services." Her showcase demonstrated how unified registry architecture tracks chronic patient populations across acute and outpatient settings, enabling proactive intervention and longitudinal care management.

Global Momentum and Market Validation
MEDITECH also highlighted its sustained international growth across acute trusts, private healthcare networks, and multi-site regional delivery systems. Over the past year, our global footprint expanded with tremendous momentum, highlighted by 43 successful go-lives across six countries and territories.
Large-scale enterprise adoption accelerated significantly across more than 100 hospital sites, while our international presence reached exciting new milestones with eight major deployments across leading NHS Trusts, prominent private providers, and key healthcare networks in the UK and Ireland.
MEDITECH secured the Best in KLAS award for the 12th consecutive year (Acute Care EHR & Patient Accounting/Global Software Report), testifying to client partnership and system flexibility. Concurrently, Gartner positioned MEDITECH as a Leader in both the 2026 Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for Enterprise Electronic Health Records and the 2026 Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for Clinical Communication and Collaboration (CC&C).
These industry benchmarks and widespread adoption milestones demonstrate our proven stability and continuous innovation. They ensure health systems not only succeed at go-live but also unlock sustained, long-term value, reflecting the increasing trust healthcare leaders place in our platform to provide dependable clinical and operational results. MUN was a great opportunity to celebrate success, and share strategies to fuel future innovation.
Executive Perspective
Charlotte Scott, Managing Director of MEDITECH UK and Ireland, emphasised the power of transparent peer-to-peer collaboration.
"What makes MUN special is that it’s genuinely a community,” said Scott. “Customers are incredibly open about sharing what’s worked, what hasn’t, and what they’ve learned because some of the best ideas come from our customers. MUN creates that opportunity for organisations to learn from each other, challenge us, and influence what comes next."
Echoing Scott’s sentiments, MEDITCH International CEO Charlotte Jackson said, "In all the years that I have been coming to MUN, this is one of the best events yet. With a great turnout from our customers in both the UK and Ireland, the event focused on how health systems can be used to derive benefits for the hospitals themselves as well as the patients they serve."
Community, Connection, and Well-being
Beyond the programme sessions, the Liverpool location offered an inviting setting for delegates to meet in person and share insights. Attendees nurtured well-being and camaraderie through the spirited annual MUN Run, dedicated to community engagement and local fundraising.
Additionally, the evening social gathering and networking dinner provided an informal environment for delegates, partner organisations, and the MEDITECH team to relax, strengthen connections, and honour mutual accomplishments.
MEDITECH would like to extend its sincere appreciation and gratitude to all of the customer speakers, panel members, and guest presenters who dedicated their time and expertise to prepare insightful sessions. Their willingness to share candid lessons learned, showcase innovative workflow solutions, and demonstrate measurable outcomes was instrumental in highlighting how healthcare organisations are successfully maximising value across their health systems.
