The Women Hospital CEOs to Know list featured leaders who are "driving growth, cultivating positive workplace cultures, expanding access to care, and boosting satisfaction for both providers and patients.” These customers are increasing access, equity, and inclusion while also driving improvements in healthcare delivery.
Becker’s Rural Hospital CEOs to Know list recognizes their “vital role in bringing high-quality care to patients in remote areas,” and honors their efforts in tackling staffing shortages and the lingering impacts of the pandemic.

Mile Bluff Medical Center CEO Dara Bartels - recognized for a second consecutive year by Becker’s for her leadership in providing high-quality, patient-centered care to over 55,000 residents across south-central Wisconsin. Under her guidance, the medical center has seen significant strides in operational efficiency, including the successful integration of AI-powered tools that save clinicians valuable time and enhance patient care.
Augusta Health President & CEO Mary Mannix - honored for her role in transforming Augusta into a nationally recognized, community-focused health system serving over 300,000 individuals in Virginia's Shenandoah Valley. Her initiatives - including mobile clinics, partnerships with Duke Cancer Network and Mayo Clinic Care Network, and developing a multispecialty provider group and Medicare-approved ACO - earned Augusta Health national acclaim, including the 2024 CMS "Health Equity Award" and AHA "Equity of Care Award."
Newman Regional Health CEO Dr. Cathy Pimple - recognized for over 30 years of experience, emphasizing clinical excellence, workforce development, and strategic innovation. Her dedication to healthcare's future included a $500,000 investment in Emporia State University's simulation hospital, to strengthen local nursing education and recruitment.
Henry County Hospital CEO Kristi Barnd - named for her contributions to revolutionizing rural healthcare. She led the adoption of MEDITECH’s cloud-based MaaS solution, improving efficiency and patient engagement, and earning awards like the "Healthy Worksite Gold Award" and 5-star patient communication ratings.
Heywood Hospital President & CEO Rozanna Penney - celebrated for steering her organization through Chapter 11 restructuring, achieving $14 million in annualized savings, and earning a 4-star CMS quality rating in 2024. As the first female CEO of Heywood, Ms. Penney is a prominent mentor and advocate for addressing regional health disparities.
