Physicians at Commonwealth Health Corporation Choose MEDITECH’s Web Ambulatory EHR

Commonwealth Health Corporation (CHC), is a major healthcare leader in Southcentral Kentucky. A MEDITECH customer for over 30 years, CHC has chosen to continue its partnership by selecting the new Web Ambulatory EHR and 6.1 platform.

Chief Information Officer Mark Brookman and Executive Vice President Jean Cherry both played major roles in the process by helping their physicians find an integrated product that put them onto a single platform.

“Our physicians had the biggest influence in our decision, and they selected the MEDITECH product. A key factor in the decision was the ease of use of the Ambulatory EHR. It is very forward thinking, written for the web, and accessible from all mobile devices,” says Cherry. “Another important factor was its usefulness for population health management — the functionality is already embedded into the software.”

The Medical Center at Bowling Green — CHC’s flagship hospital — opened its doors as a city/county hospital in 1926. Since that time, CHC has expanded to include an impressive list of facilities. CHC owns several physician clinics and operates over 430 beds between four hospitals, including two critical access hospitals and a long-term acute care hospital. As CHC continues to expand the healthcare landscape in the region, MEDITECH has grown with it.

“MEDITECH has been an important strategic partner for many years,” adds Cherry. “We continue to implement their platforms because we see a huge benefit in the way MEDITECH addresses our market pressures. They are a reliable partner and deliver a very cost effective solution that meets our clinical needs.”

CHC will also implement MEDITECH’s Home Health solution. Learn more about connecting your care teams across the continuum with MEDITECH’s EHR and tools for population health, care transitions, and patient surveillance. For more information about Commonwealth Health Corporation, visit
