Patient Safety Spotlight Series: Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital

 |

All week long, we’ll be highlighting several MEDITECH customers that are using EHRs to ensure safer care throughout the patient journey. These are just a few of their stories.

In 2011, Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital (Valencia, CA) started implementing MEDITECH’s CPOE solution to improve functionality across the hospital. With clearly-defined goals, the hospital sought to increase patient safety, further reduce medication errors, and streamline communication between departments with electronic order entry.

Today, the 238-bed acute care hospital is another step closer to a paperless system — now seeing results of CPOE usage at 81 percent house-wide, with the final department, the NICU, now up and running at 80 percent after going LIVE Oct. 2015.

“MEDITECH’s CPOE tools provide more cohesion and collaboration between all departments house-wide, resulting in increased patient safety with a more robust, safer system,” says Amber McGreevy RN, BSN, IS Clinical Applications Manager at Henry Mayo.

Learn why Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital will soon be upgrading to MEDITECH’s 6.1 Web EHR for long-term success with improved physician workflows.
