Partnership Goals Lead Canadian Hospital to MEDITECH’s Web-Based EHR
Long-term Canadian customer Markham Stouffville Hospital (MSH) will soon be using MEDITECH’s Web EHR platform to serve its 300,000 patients.
According to CIO Lewis Hooper, the integrated Web EHR will give Markham Stouffville more opportunities to collaborate with other hospitals, to maximize the value and efficiency of healthcare IT in accordance with recent recommendations from the Ontario Hospital Association’s Hospital Information System (HIS) Renewal Advisory Panel.
“We want to be a partner for providing healthcare in our area,” says Hooper. “As we move forward with MEDITECH’s Web EHR, MSH is also excited about upcoming enhancements in the Critical Care, Surgical Services, and Patient and Consumer Health Portal areas.”
Located in one of the fastest growing areas in Ontario, where 58 percent of hospitals are using MEDITECH, Markham Stouffville will be implementing its Web EHR in February 2017. The 265-bed community hospital—a MEDITECH customer for over 25 years—is best known for achieving HIMSS Analytics Stage 6 in 2014 with the highest EMRAM score for an acute care hospital in Canada.
