MEDITECH EVP Reveals “Radical” Web EHR Story to MedCity News
MedCity News recently sat down with Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing Helen Waters, to discuss how MEDITECH is tackling issues with clinician productivity in an entirely new way, with its innovative Web EHR.
“We saw a tremendous opportunity to start to envision the future of this industry and our company . . . We were going to try to create something dramatically different,” said Waters in the interview.
“(The Web EHR’s) got all the conventions that physicians expect to use in every other part of their lives . . . We’ve completely rewritten the physician experience, from ordering to documenting to reviewing to e-Prescribing.”
Helen went on to discuss MEDITECH’s focus on how interoperability is driving public health, in MedCity’s follow-up interview.
“We subscribe heavily to the fact that the data has the right to go with the patient to be delivered to the next caregiver, whether they’re using our system or someone else’s, in order to provide the most comprehensive, good clinical decision-making that someone can give,” said Waters. She also noted that MEDITECH would be demonstrating transactions with FHIR-based APIs, including an opioid-use case, at the HIMSS Interoperability Showcase.
