MEDITECH Launches New CAUTI Prevention EHR Toolkit
More than 560,000 patients each year are affected by catheter-associated urinary tract infections (CAUTIs). Due to its high cost and prevalence, reducing CAUTI rates has become a national priority.
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Hospital-Acquired Condition Reduction Program incentivizes hospitals to decrease the rate of preventable HACs, including CAUTIs. According to CMS data, over 724 hospitals will see a one percent reduction in Medicare payments during Fiscal Year 2015 as a result of their overall HAC performance.
Customers, check out our new CAUTI Prevention Toolkit, which will support you in the prevention and early detection of CAUTI events by providing physicians, nurses, and quality management staff with best practice workflows as well as immediate access to catheter data, guidance, and clinical decision support notifications.
