MEDITECH Celebrates October’s Health Literacy Heroes
Providers, government agencies, and universities across the globe are taking action to improve health communication during Health Literacy Month this October. Join us in advocating for more convenient, understandable health information through technology use, and celebrating those who take the time to educate and empower patients.
Here’s just a few MEDITECH customers who are leading the way on health literacy:
Interior Health (Kelowna, BC) was recently recognized as the first health authority in British Columbia to provide patients in the mostly rural community with secure, 24-hour, online access to their health records.
Staff at Marietta Memorial Hospital (Marietta, OH) began helping inpatients to sign up for their patient portal before leaving the hospital setting - which resulted in a 25% usage rate over just three months.
Meadville Medical Center (Meadville, PA) is improving their community’s health literacy through their health coaches program - teaming pre-health college students with chronic disease outpatients to help educate and improve compliance.
