MEDITECH 2018 Revenue Cycle Summits Boost Customer Communication

MEDITECH recently held its fourth annual Revenue Cycle Summits, attended by nearly 100 customers who discussed how to optimize their systems and stay fiscally fit, even as the healthcare industry becomes more and more competitive.

MEDITECH recently held its fourth annual Revenue Cycle Summits (for 6.1/Expanse and 5.x/6.0), bringing together nearly 100 customers to exchange strategies on optimizing their systems and staying fiscally fit, even as the healthcare industry becomes more and more competitive.

Attendees participated in roundtable discussions and were given more opportunities for peer-to-peer communication, as well as feedback for MEDITECH.

Customers presenting at the summits included Kevin Adams, director of revenue cycle at Anderson Regional Hospital, who spoke about how he uses the interactive reports in MEDITECH’s Financial Status Desktop to drive productivity and accountability within his business office. Christina Hammond, Manager of Revenue Cycle Informatics at Adena Healthcare, presented on the integration of financial counseling for patients into the revenue cycle workflow.

Attendees also heard from Dan Burkman, director of IT financial systems from Avera Health, about the organization’s journey to MEDITECH’s new Expanse EHR, as well as Andrew Serge, director of patient access at Saratoga Hospital, who spoke on managing the relationship between patient accounts and patient access. Wendy Kolodziejczyk, patient financial service manager from Cortland Regional Medical Center, introduced a panel discussion with a presentation on how her facility’s process improvements impacted revenue in 2017.
