In Just 3 Months, 25% of Patients at Marietta Memorial Engage Using MEDITECH

Marietta Memorial Hospital (Marietta, Ohio) has had a great start with their MEDITECH Patient and Consumer Portal usage initiative - climbing to a 25 percent usage rate in only three months. The hospital has been having a great deal of success engaging their local community, to inspire long-term wellness.

“We constantly support our portal throughout our community, in the physician practices, but also in the hospital,” says Memorial Health System’s Chief Information Officer Timothy Gray, CPHIMS. “We encourage all patients to sign up for the portal when they come in to the hospital, and have resources available to help them get logged in for the first time.”

Gray believes that the key to engagement is listening to patients, as well as giving them solid tools and support. “Our patients care for themselves. They want to engage, and help us help them to achieve better outcomes with their health,” says Gray. “I do believe that our MEDITECH patient portal is helping us align our initiatives such as ACO and population health, where patient engagement is the huge driving force.”
