Highlights from MEDITECH's Nurse Advisory Committee Meeting

At MEDITECH’s recent Nurse Advisory Committee (NAC) meeting, Associate Vice President Cathy Turner, RN, led the discussion on a variety of topics including the latest in Clinical Quality Measures, MEDITECH Development and enhancement progress, NAC member updates, and a new social media networking customer education initiative.

“This truly is the highlight of what I do every year,” said Turner as she kicked off the meeting and welcomed NAC members. “I’m eager to share our newest initiatives with you and I’m equally excited to hear about the positive things you are doing to improve outcomes and maximize care delivery at your healthcare organizations.”

Turner added, “As the industry changes, MEDITECH continues to evolve, and we rely on you, our nurse leaders, to help us develop and optimize tools within our software so that we can best meet the needs of your patients, your clinicians, and your organization across all care settings.”

MEDITECH development analysts and product specialists provided updates on Meaningful Use Clinical Quality Measures, universal PCS eMAR functionality, total dose ordering, critical care flowsheet, standard content, the latest expansion of status board content, and enhanced IV documentation.

NAC members shared updates on existing projects, hospital-wide initiatives, and were invited to attend nurse executive sessions where industry leaders spoke about reducing readmission rates and the importance of using transformational leadership to encourage nurse buy-in.

In addition, MEDITECH’s social media expert debuted a brand new demonstration about MEDITECH’s six social media platforms and the importance of making online connections with professional colleagues in order to stay current and knowledgeable in today’s dynamic healthcare environment.

“We appreciate your continued involvement as we work together to enhance our software and achieve inspired solutions for inspired care,” says Turner. “Also, please remember our NAC nomination submissions are available until August 31st—get your nomination in today!”
