Halifax CIO Recognized Among Computerworld's Premier 100 Leaders

Tom Stafford, vice president and CIO of Halifax Health (Daytona Beach, FL) was recently named one of Computerworld’s 2017 Premier 100 Technology Leaders. The award recognizes executives from the technology and business sectors for their exceptional leadership and innovative approaches to business challenges.

Stafford, who will be doing a presentation on clinical communications at the HIMSS 2017 conference in February, has helped Halifax dramatically improve their clinical communication. He achieved this by integrating their MEDITECH EHR, their voice-activated badge system, and their bed management application to enable HIPAA-compliant voice communication between caregivers and real-time alerts on patient status changes. As a result, the organization has streamlined their communication process by over 60 percent, shortened discharge duration by nearly 10 percent, and dramatically reduced noise on the floor by eliminating internal overhead paging.

Stafford will be honored at Computerworld’s business leadership conference in Florida next March. Learn more about how MEDITECH’s EHR is helping its customers on the path to clinical transformation.
