A new case study shows that Ontario Shores Centre for Mental Health Sciences (Whitby, ON) has achieved improvements in patient satisfaction, engagement, and mental health recovery after implementing MEDITECH’s Patient Portal.
Based on data gathered in the first year after Ontario Shores went LIVE with the portal, the case study reports several positive outcomes, including:
- Improvement in 7 out of 8 patient mental health recovery domains, including self-empowerment, basic functioning, and overall well-being
- A 67% greater likelihood that portal users attend appointments
- A 30% lower likelihood that portal users request information
- A 16% improvement in patient self-assessment scores
“Ontario Shores is committed to continuously advancing care for individuals with mental illness,” said Sanaz Riahi, senior director of professional practice & clinical information. “The patient portal is a valuable tool that empowers patients to be active participants in their own care. Clinicians are able to partner with patients to further support their recovery goals and stay connected to their progress.”
