At MEDITECH, we are committed to providing our customers with the service and care that they need. The primary role of the Technical Support Specialist position is to support our hardware partners and vendors, internal and external customers with software, hardware, connectivity, network, and functionality issues.  As a member of our Client Services team, your job would involve:

  • Identifying and troubleshooting technical issues related to hardware, network, operating systems and database

  • Configure, support and troubleshoot backup issues in the MEDITECH environment

  • Performing system software installation

  • Analyzing server, storage and network performance data to determine root cause of hardware-related performance issues

  • Analyzing captures of network communication using packet analyzers to troubleshoot and resolve network communication issues

  • Installing and configuring MEDITECH proprietary system support utilities

  • Perform database analysis and repair using MEDITECH proprietary tools

  • Configure, support and troubleshoot printing issues in the MEDITECH environment

  • Communicating with applications support personnel at MEDITECH

  • Providing ongoing technical support to our customers

  • Acting as a direct resource for our customers

What You Should Have
  • Knowledge of the fundamentals of network architecture and components, telecommunications hardware and protocols, remote access software, serial data communications, input/output devices commonly used in a hospital and office environment, TCP/IP protocols, and PC hardware required

  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree preferred, with coursework in a computer programming related field (i.e. Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering)

  • Familiar with Windows Server, desktop and mobile computing environments as well as other Microsoft applications

  • LAN/WAN and PC maintenance skills 

  • Flexible and aggressive approach to problem solving

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong analytical skills and problem solving skills

  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
