SQL Programmer, Business and Clinical Analytics

Clinical analytics can aid in the transformation of healthcare. With this information, clinicians are better positioned to provide safe and effective patient care. The goal is to provide meaningful and useful dashboards to healthcare executives and departmental leaders to drive operational efficiency and improve patient outcomes.  As a member of our Client Services team, your job will involve:


  • Researching, designing, implementing and troubleshooting SQL reports and dashboards for our customers

  • Writing SQL programs to interface with MEDITECH's Data Repository and Business and Clinical Analytics applications using a proprietary ETL

  • Using dashboards and datasets developed with elements from either a single or multiple SQL data warehouse source, providing daily support to MEDITECH’s customers who have purchased, and installed its’ Business and Clinical Analytics solution

  • Providing direct technical support to our customers and analyzing their SQL programming needs

  • Working with application counterparts to translate MEDITECH data structures into SQL and collaborating with Application Development to modify and enhance existing data structures

  • Performing in a team environment and mentoring others

What You Should Have


  • Bachelor's degree with coursework in a computer programming related field (Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering) and/or applicable military experience required

  • Minimum of 1 to 3 years of Microsoft SQL Server experience with SQL 2000-2008

  • Proficiency in T-SQL (Transact SQL), ASP, PHP, or C/C++

  • Ability to adhere to a consistent coding style and document coding procedures

  • Understanding the relationship between SQL queries/reports and integrity, performance, and locking

  • Ability to write both static and dynamic T-SQL

  • Excellent practical knowledge of T-SQL statements and constructs: queries, stored procedures, functions, triggers, views, cursors, and loops

  • Ability to write efficient T-SQL queries and reports to troubleshoot and tune performance of existing reports using performance and analysis tools (Executions Plan, Profiler, Tuning Advisor)

  • Experience working with large volume data processing and data analysis

  • Exceptional written and communication skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
