EHR Clinical Quality Improvement Consultant

For organizations who have wide adoption of Electronic Health Record (EHR) utilization, the EHR can become an important tool in clinical and operational improvement projects.  As an EHR Clinical Quality Improvement (eCQI) Consultant, you will lead and be responsible for managing such projects for MEDITECH with healthcare organization improvement teams (utilizing MEDITECH’s EHR Excellence Toolkits).  You will also be part of the group at MEDITECH that develops the EHR Excellence Toolkits; MEDITECH EHR Excellence Toolkits are designed to address high priority healthcare conditions such as preventing Catheter Associated Urinary Tract Infections, managing sepsis, and preventing falls.   During the eCQI engagement, the consultant will lead discussions and work sessions pertaining to clinical process, the details of the MEDITECH clinical toolkits and deployment of the toolkit methodology aligned with the process improvement initiative.  As a member of our quality improvement team, your job would involve:


  • Becoming an expert on the content of MEDITECH’s clinical EHR Excellence toolkits
  • Contribute as clinical subject matter expert on new EHR Excellence toolkit development
  • Leading and managing eCQI project(s) during MEDITECH customer engagements
  • Leading discussions and sessions, for MEDITECH, related to process change utilizing the toolkit
  • Conducting toolkit dictionary build sessions on site and remotely
  • Assisting in guiding the customer’s process change team toward workflow recommendations that are outlined in the toolkit
  • Aiding the customer before and during deployment of the toolkit in a LIVE environment
  • Providing guidance with analytics reporting and case study development
  • Requires an average travel commitment of 50-60%


What You Should Have
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred with 2 or more years of applicable clinical practice experience
  • Clinical credentials required (nursing or hospital pharmacy preferred)
  • Experience working on clinical improvement projects a plus
  • Knowledge of and experience with process improvement methodology favored
  • 2 years of experience with an enterprise health record software system (MEDITECH exposure preferred)
  • Must have excellent project management and business writing skills
  • Strong research skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, negotiation, problem solving, and networking skills
  • Experience working in a collaborative environment
  • Ability to organize and analyze detailed information and present it in a variety of formats for business, executive, and technical audiences
  • High level of initiative and the ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to elicit cooperation from senior management and other departments
  • A high comfort level working with external and internal C-level executives
