Steven Koretz

Steven Koretz’s ability to synthesize complex information while building strong, lasting relationships has served him well during his career. As senior vice president, he oversees implementations and service for MEDITECH’s vast international customer base—ensuring that healthcare organizations throughout the UK, Ireland, South Africa, the Middle East, Australia, and Southeast Asia, can deliver coordinated, safe care to patients worldwide.

After attending the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy as an undergraduate, Mr. Koretz spent several years working as a registered pharmacist in both the retail and hospital settings. He later returned to the college to establish a curriculum for the newly created Externship Program and to pursue his Masters degree. During this endeavor he enrolled in a course called Computers in Pharmacy, and became fascinated by how information technology could improve pharmacy workflow and medication administration. The move to the Healthcare IT industry seemed a natural next step for Mr. Koretz — he joined MEDITECH’s sales team in 1982 and soon secured his first Pharmacy/Lab customer.

During the 1990s, Mr. Koretz was instrumental in strengthening our partnership with the former Columbia Healthcare Corporation (now Hospital Corporation of America, or HCA). With his help, the organization was able to reach their goal of uniting multiple facilities into a single information network, for more efficient and cost-effective care delivery. Today, HCA is among our largest customers, with over 300 hospitals using MEDITECH’s integrated EHR.

In his free time, Mr. Koretz enjoys the adventure of traveling, skiing, and golfing as well as the camaraderie of team sports. He and his wife, Linda, have two children and two grandsons.
